Two of my best friends share a birthday on the same day, August 3rd. So happy birthday to Shanna and Kristin. Two amazing women, two totally different women and two totally different relationships and stories throughout my life. I appreciate them both so much and have loved living my life with them and learning from them along the way.
They both have given me two totally different perspectives in life. One came from a single mother who I spent a ton of my time with in elementary school. We thought we were Thelma and Louise growing up on our horses riding them around like crazy and running from her mom up in Helvetia as kids. We had a love for legos and matchbox cars and so much more. I learned from Shanna and her family about family. I did not come from a single parent home, but I learned so much from her life about it. This was so crucial when I became a single mom and knowing it could be done. I learned resilience from her and her mom. I also watched her turn into an amazing, smart, beautiful and successful woman all on her own. She showed me what it’s like to be strong and to do anything you want no matter what your circumstances are in life or what you were or were not given. Her mom taught me so much too. They both did and I feel so lucky to have had them in my life and to still have them in my life. They have both showed me what it’s like to be a strong woman, never give up and to be strong and go after what you want. So happy birthday Shanna, and her mom Norma later this month ❤️❤️ and thank you for all you have taught me over the years and for being there for me.
And then there is another of my beautiful best friends, Kristin aka boozy aka beratcha who was also born on August 3rd. I met Kristin when I was about 20 through mutual friends and with my ex husband. She dated his best friend for years. We became super close and have definitely been through so much together. She has been an amazing friend for 20 years. We have went through so many ups and downs personally and as friends but we are still here. She eventually married my favorite person from JR High so that was an amazing bonus. I have seen Kristin go through some hard things with her kiddos, herself and her family. I won’t share it all as it’s not my story to tell. I have seen her accomplishments personally and professionally and seen so many obstacles that could of got in her way, but they never did. She’s strong, determined and an amazing friend. I’m so thankful to still have her in my life.
Happy Birthday to two of my best friends, two strong, beautiful, smart and real women. I couldn’t do this life without you both 🖤🖤
