I have known Heather for years, since about 1998 and it’s her birthday! So happy to be here to celebrate another one with her. Heather lived in Oregon for a long time but was raised all over, her dad is from Cali and I did have the chance to go and meet that side in Laguna, California at one point. Her dads a rad artist and glass blower. She moved to San Diego first around like 1999 or 2000, I remember I was not 21 yet. I drove with her from Portland to San Diego. It was a fun and crazy road trip. She has lived in San Diego mostly, so I am lucky to visit her there often. She moved to Alexandria Virginia for a bit 2019 and 2020 and I am lucky I got there and saw her in the short time she was there. We had some good adventures exploring DC and Virginia. Heather is one of the reasons white water rafting became a big part of my life, she grew up doing it with her mom and step dad and I am glad for all the memories with her doing it as well. Heather has a son who just turned 12 this year and him and Jax are friends. Jax doesn’t get along with most kids as many kids don’t understand him and his difficulties with communication, but Logan has always been amazing to him and they have spent lots of time together even without us moms. I’m pretty sure the way Logan is, is because of his mom and how she is raised him to be such a kind human. When I got hurt, I guess she flew here to be with me. Of course I have no memory, but I have that pic of us holding hands when I was still in a coma. Heather has been there for all of my adult life and through all the ups and downs and all the versions of me and I am so thankful for her friendship and that she is still such a huge part of my life. I can’t wait to go see her back in San Diego and Lo too. Happiest of birthdays Heather!
