Recently I have taken an Instagram break. Saturday will be a month of no Instagram and I don’t know if I will go until 2021 without it or what. But I have found a few cool tools to keep me busy and feel connected during my Instagram hiatus.
I had a good sober community on the gram and I definitely miss them. But then I found this sober mom squad and checked them out and signed up. I found them because i read a book called The Highlight Reel and had followed the author on IG and signed up for her emails, and this SMS popped up in an email one day. The basic is $12 a month but it’s all about the community for me. As a member you can watch the hosts videos, and in each one I can find so much to relate too. They have weekly meetings on zoom, I did attend one so far. But the app is also a like minded community of sober moms. It’s great for what I needed which is connection and connection to people who get where you may be coming from.
If you are a mom and sober, check out this great group and also check out Emily’s book The Highlight Reel.
Since I Joined the Sober Mom Squad, it made me want to re listen to a my story. I was on the SoberCorps podcast, so I’m listening to that. My memory is horrible due to my brain injury so I just wanted to listen and see what I said. I’m proud to listen to it and know 100% that’s it’s honest, real and vulnerable and makes me so proud to see where I am today, 3 years and 8 months sober since I removed alcohol from my life. If you haven’t heard my story and care too, check it out.
